Brampton Brewery Chesterfield Spire 10 RESULTS

Thanks to all who turned up yesterday to this ever popular event. The weather was shall we say “changeable”, well done to all who ran, the weather certainly didn’t seem to have a negative impact on times!

Congratulations to Andy Greenleaf of Winchester & District Athletics Club who ran the winning time of 53:11 closely followed by Ian fisher (54:35) and Chris Shelton(55:31).

The ladies ran excellent times with Ruth Jones of Nene Valley Harriers (1:06:58) taking the First Lady position. (see main sheet for further details).

Well done to the fun runners too who braved the showers and quite cold snap during their race.

Once again thanks to everyone concerned for turning up and making the day despite the changeable conditions.

Here are the results for the Brampton Brewery Chesterfield Spire 10…

Photographs of the event will be uploaded just as soon as I get them (I’m in the process of organising this). Please don’t email them to me as I have just about managed to recover my mailbox that was crippled due to the unholy amount of large files it had consumed.

Thanks

Ian

Booths Road League – Shipley

A fantastic club turnout for the final Road League fixture at Shipley Hall CC on Tuesday evening.  We managed 36 runners although two didn’t count for the results as they hadn’t got club vests.
Rod Smith was our top runner, leading the race for a while, he eventually finished 3rd in a time of 26:28 over the 4.5 mile course.   Tim Clayton’s time of 26:53 gave him 9th place overall and was first vet45 with David Riach next home in 27:40 for 17th place and 1st vet40. Our 4th top twenty finisher was Steve Leverton in 28:20 with Roland Wells 29:47, Stuart Cunningham 30:14 and Wayne Spelman 30:50 our other team counters bringing the men home in 3rd place.
For the women Suzy Sharman ran her best performance of the series with a time of 30:16 and was 1st female.  Heidi Josephs 35:23 and Carrie Wing 35:41 made up our other team counters helping the women finish 4th overall.
At the end of the series our teams – men, women and combined have all finished in 3rd place and we also have individual prize winners in David Riach 1st vet 40, Tim Clayton 1st vet45, Suzy Sharman 2nd (or 3rd) female,
Well done to all who turned out to represent the club over the five events.

VET MEN WIN RELAYS

NDRC Vet Men at Derwent River Relays 2010

We had a great turnout at Belper Rugby Club for the Derwent River Relays and keeping up our record of always winning something our crack team of Stuart Cunningham, Steve Leverton, Tim Clayton and David Riach finished 5th overall and won the Male Vets team prize. We also came close to having the fastest women overall but a great run from Suzy Sharman came up just 6 seconds short. We managed 5 teams this year and everyone enjoyed what turned out to be a great Saturday afternoon, well done to all of our teams.

Important News

The winning time at the last race has been challenged by the Power of 10 record keepers who doubt the course was an accurate 5km. As we had to change the course and it was not ‘officially measured’ we have had to concede that finishing times cannot be regarded as official and I have added a note to the results to indicate it was an ‘unofficial course’.

The result page has had a note applied to reflect this:

No Walk in the Park 1st May 2010

_5012011.JPG

And they're off! On the fifth race of the year.

Here are the  results for the fifth race of the year. Photographs available by clicking on image above or here.

Please see the LOST AND FOUND section at the bottom of this page for some important information.

The fifth race of the year saw runners racing around a slightly altered course due to the Bank Holiday Fair blocking some of the official route! This however did not deter anyone, in fact we think it is a faster course! The winner this morning though was particularly impressive: Joshua Bull dominated the field from start to finish ending in a three minute lead over our very own Steve Leverton. Joshua ran a fantastic time of 14:39 with Steve 2nd at 17:39 and  Liam Fidler 3rd  with an excellent 17:49. Well done to Joshua, Steve and Liam. We had 44 finishers in total; well done to all who raced and thanks for turning up. Thanks also to everyone who helped with catering, marshalling and generally helping to make sure we had another, successful and fun No Walk in the Park.

Conditions were good if a little warm but this didn’t seem to slow anyone down! Nice running everyone! We look forward to seeing you all again at the next race!
