A big thank you to all who attended and helped this increasingly popular event to have a very successful September race with 50 finishers out of 52 runners. It was great to see so many new faces and especially the young ones who will be the future of the sport.

Today’s race started in somewhat damp and dismal conditions which were pretty much spot on for racing and that was reflected in the results below! Well done to Kelechi Ugonna for bettering his last performance by four seconds, winning with a time of 16:34, Our very own Tim Clayton for coming second with an excellent 17:13 and Steve Gascoyne (CDAC) for achieving third place in 17:25.

First Lady (Canine) was Rosie McMillan who ran with her Dad Ian. Well done to Rosie especially as this was her very first race.

First Lady (Human) was Jessica Freeman who ran 21:00, well done!

Great to see people from other clubs – Rotherham Harriers, Tynedale Harriers and Sheffield AC.

Thanks to all who turned up to race – another good field of 44 runners in all. We look forward to seeing you all next time!

Fun Run

Great to see the fun run growing in popularity. Some famous NDRC names figured among the front of field with William and Alex Ediker. The Ediker brothers dominated the field,  achieving first and second place respectively in outstanding times of 5:56(William) and 6:04(Alex) with Karl Cannon running in third place with a very creditable time of 6:57. First lady was Emma Cannon running 7:32.

Very well done to all and we look forward to seeing you again!

Thanks to everyone for turning out again to support this ever growing monthly event. You all help to make this a success and raise money for various good causes.

To anyone who may have turned up for the No Walk in the Park race this morning, please accept my sincerest apologies and I’m so sorry for any inconvenience caused. I received an email yesterday telling me to put a note on the website to remind everyone that due to a cricket match the race would be next Saturday (14/08/2010). Unfortunately I got distracted with other work and simply forgot to update the website to that effect.

The race will take place next week on Saturday 14/08/2010 at 9am with registration opening at 08:15. The fun run starts at 9:05am. We look forward to seeing everyone nest week.

We had a great turnout with 44 people on the coach to Kirkby Malzeard with 25 completing the race on what turned out to be a very warm day. Stuart Cunningham was our leading runner finishing in 10th place with a time of 37:19 over what is quite a tough undulating course. Steve Leverton was 1st vet 50 in 38:41 for 15th place with Paul Sadler 39:37 just edging Richard Gratton 39:45 for 21st place. We only just missed out on taking the team prize but were narrowly beaten by Thirsk & Sowerby Runners. Suzy Sharman was our leading lady with 43:10 finishing 2nd female.It was a welcome return to racing for Bill Dunphy posting 48:33 in what was his first 10k for at least 2 years, obviously getting himself in shape for the Twigg Handicap in a couple of weeks time!

Just a couple of announcements to keep everyone informed.

A chocolate hamper is to be raffled at the next race (10/07). It will cost £1.00 per strip of tickets with all proceeds going to the charity being donated to in July which I believe is Cancer Research.

John’s idea is to donate to different charities each month, the charities to receive a donation for the next two races are Cancer Research and in August, Edale Mountain Rescue who I think everyone will agree do a very good job indeed turning out in all weathers all year round risking their own necks to save ours.

A lovely morning once again. Well done to all who took part and thanks to everyone else who came along to help out and spectate.

The race saw 39 runners race the usual course of this 5k sine there were no vehicles blocking the path this time!

Well done to Ugonna Kelechi, Steve Penney and our very own Tim Clayton who came in at 1st, second and 3rd places respectively with very good times especially in the heat.

And they're off! On the fifth race of the year.

The fifth race of the year saw runners racing around a slightly altered course due to the Bank Holiday Fair blocking some of the official route! This however did not deter anyone, in fact we think it is a faster course! The winner this morning though was particularly impressive: Joshua Bull dominated the field from start to finish ending in a three minute lead over our very own Steve Leverton. Joshua ran a fantastic time of 14:39 with Steve 2nd at 17:39 and  Liam Fidler 3rd  with an excellent 17:49. Well done to Joshua, Steve and Liam. We had 44 finishers in total; well done to all who raced and thanks for turning up. Thanks also to everyone who helped with catering, marshalling and generally helping to make sure we had another, successful and fun No Walk in the Park.

Conditions were good if a little warm but this didn’t seem to slow anyone down! Nice running everyone! We look forward to seeing you all again at the next race!

Another great event with 46 finishers at Easter! Thanks to everyone who turned up on this lovely Spring morning.

Well done to all who raced. Conditions were good and this shows in the times achieved; nice running everyone! We look forward to seeing you all again at the next race!

Another great turn out for the very first official race where runners braved the cold, paid their few quid and ran. The conditions were quite cold again and runnable with care. Many thanks to the marshalls for pointing out the especially tricky spots!

Well done to Darren King of Killamarsh Kestrels, Ian Monahan of Chesterfield District Athletics Club and Chris Adams of Killamarsh Kestrels who finished in first, second and third places respectively.
